Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms of service are the agreement between you and App Renovation, a website and app studio and builder based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands ("we", "us"). They apply when you visit apprenovation.com or its language sites (.nl, .de and .fr), use the App Renovation apps for web, iOS, Android and desktop, create an account, or build and publish a site in Studio.
By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you use App Renovation for a company, you confirm that you may bind it. How we handle personal data is explained in the privacy policy, a separate document.
Your account
You need an account to use Studio. When you create one you agree to:
- give accurate details and keep them up to date
- keep your password secret and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account
- be responsible for everything done through your account
You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live. Accounts are personal: do not share one between several people unless your plan says you may.
Plans, payments and renewals
App Renovation has a free plan and paid plans. What each plan includes, and its price, is shown on the pricing page at the moment you choose it. Prices are shown with the tax that applies to you where the law requires it.
A paid plan runs for the period you chose and renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew in your account before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time; you keep the paid features until the end of the period you already paid for.
Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase, for example as a consumer in the European Union, we respect it. Apart from that, fees already paid are not refunded for the rest of a period you cancel.
Free accounts and account expiry
Free accounts may have limits, such as the number of sites or the storage you can use. We may change these limits, and we tell you about changes that matter.
When a paid plan ends, your account returns to the free plan. Your sites are kept, but features that need a paid plan stop working until you renew. Accounts that stay unused for a long time may expire; we tell you by email before that happens.
What you may and may not do
Use App Renovation lawfully and with respect for others. You may not use it to:
- publish illegal content, or content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy
- spread malware, phishing, spam or misleading offers
- harass, threaten or discriminate against people, or publish hate speech or sexual content involving minors
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other people's accounts
- resell or copy the service itself, or build a competing product from it
If a site breaks these rules we may unpublish it or suspend the account. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
Your content and our licence
You own the text, pictures, videos and other material you put in your sites ("your content"). We do not claim ownership of it.
To run the service you give us a limited licence to store, copy, resize, convert and display your content, only so that we can host your sites, show them to your visitors and keep backups. The licence ends when you delete the content, apart from short-lived backup copies.
You promise that you have the rights to everything you upload and that it does not break the law. App Renovation, its templates, designs, software and name belong to us or our licensors. You may use the templates and blocks for your own sites while your account is active, but not resell them on their own.
AI features
Some features use artificial intelligence to suggest or write text, build a first version of a site or answer questions. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or similar to other people's output. Read and check it before you publish.
You are responsible for what you publish, including text and pictures that the AI helped to make. Do not enter secrets or other people's personal data into AI features unless you have the right to. The privacy policy explains which providers process AI requests.
Using your own domain
Where this feature is available, customers on a plan that includes it can show a site at their own address, for example www.yourcompany.com, instead of only the address we give it. This works on the following basis:
- you must own the domain or have the owner's permission, and it must start with www
- you can connect one domain to each site, by adding the DNS record we show you at the company where you bought the domain
- we request a security certificate for it so that the site loads over HTTPS
- you stay responsible for the domain itself, including its renewal and its DNS records
The domain shows the same site as your App Renovation address. We do not promise a position in search engines. If you remove the domain, delete the site or move it to the trash, we remove the domain from our systems and delete its certificate. Remember to remove the DNS record you added.
If your paid plan ends, the domain stays connected for a grace period of 14 days so that you can renew. If you do not renew in time, the domain is disconnected and your site stays available at its App Renovation address. We may also disconnect a domain that no longer points to us, or one used against these terms.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep App Renovation available, but we do not promise that it will run without interruptions or errors. We may carry out maintenance, and some things depend on providers we use, such as hosting and email.
We improve the service all the time. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove something that you paid for, we tell you in advance and offer a fair solution, such as a refund for the unused part.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using App Renovation at any time and delete your account in your account settings or by writing to us.
We may suspend or close an account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if a payment fails and is not put right, or if the law requires it. Unless there is a risk for others or the law stops us, we tell you why and give you a reasonable time to respond.
When an account is deleted, its sites and data are removed as described in the privacy policy. Export what you need before that: after deletion we cannot restore it.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Beyond that, the service is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit, lost data that you could have backed up, or damage caused by your content or by providers outside our control.
Where we are liable, our total liability for one event is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event.
Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live.
Please contact us first so that we can try to solve a problem together. If that does not work, the competent court in the Netherlands decides, unless mandatory law gives you the right to go to a court in your own country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We put the new version on this page with its date, and for important changes we also tell you by email or in the app before they apply. If you keep using App Renovation after that date, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can close your account.
